Maurice Jones
Founder + Chairman
Maurice Jones is one of the nation's foremost leaders in community development and affordable housing. He served as President and CEO of Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), the nation's largest community development support organization, where he oversaw $2 billion in annual investments in communities. Before LISC, Maurice served as Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under President Obama and before that, as Virginia’s Secretary of Commerce and Trade. His career has been defined by moving capital to the places and people the market overlooks.
Leila Collins
Founder + Managing Partner
Leila Collins brings experience in infrastructure finance and public-private partnerships to Aequitas. Most recently, she served as Senior Advisor to New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, where she structured over $4.5 billion in projects, including a statewide housing plan and port infrastructure project. Before government service, Leila was an investor at MetaProp, a venture capital firm, where she evaluated emerging technologies transforming real estate. She holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a Master's in Urban Planning from Columbia GSAPP.
Andrew Jeong
VP of Investments
Andrew Jeong spent a decade in institutional real estate before joining Aequitas, most recently at Bridge Investment Group, where he was part of the team behind the nation's largest opportunity zone fund, later acquired by Apollo. He previously worked in capital markets and corporate development at Stockbridge Capital Group, and as a Senior Investment Associate at Reef Capital Partners. He holds a BS in Finance from Brigham Young University.
